Battery on Samsung Galaxy Note III to be 3450mAh

While we are still waiting patiently for the September 4th introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Note III, one of the specs of the device has been leaked to us by a person who says that he has just seen the engineering sample of the phablet first hand. And according to our source, the Samsung Galaxy Note III will feature a 3450mAh cell inside, powering the device.

So how does that compare with previous units of the device? The Samsung GALAXY Note II included a 3100mAh cell which means that the new  battery offers an 11% improvement in capacity. The OG Samsung GALAXY Note featured a 2500mAh battery.

Now, how does the 3450mAh battery stack up against the competition? The Sony Xperia Z Ultra has a 3000mAh battery inside while the unannounced HTC One Max is supposed to also be powered by a 3000mAh cell. And in case you're wondering, this would be the largest capacity battery that Samsung has put in a phone. Earlier this year, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 hit the market with a 3200mAh battery.
